Can't login to bethesda.net with right information? Question (self.BethesdaSoftworks) submitted 23 days ago by Jabrunis. I'm currently trying to login to bethesda.net to redeem my free morrowind copy as well as download some mods for my skyrim. It's saying I am logging in with the wrong username/password but I am using the same username. The official site for The Elder Scrolls series, including The Elder Scrolls: Blades, coming fall 2018.
The solution below will help you to fix broken mods of Bethesda.net. In case you are downloading new mods and testing it on Skyrim Special Edition, but if the game crashes then the below method will help you resolve the issue.
Step 1: Unsubscribe to all Subscribed mods from My Mods Library on Bethesda.net.
- Login to mods.bethesda.net
- Click on Mods and then click on My Mods
- Under Library Section, you can see all your mods. Click on the download icon to unsubscribe all of them.
Step 2: The next step is to fix the broken mods that are installed in PC.
- Press Ctrl + E or Double click on My Computer icon to open Windows Explorer. We will be removing files from two folder Mods and Data. Full location is in below steps.
- Click on Program files (x86). Look for Steam folder. Then click on steam apps. Under this you will find another folder common. Look for Skyrim special edition and open the Mods folder.
- Whatever you see inside delete them. In case you are not sure cut paste them on different location.
- Go back in Skyrim special edition folder and look for Data. The last folder is Video. Below that delete everything till dawnguard.esm.
- Verify the Plug-in section in Mod Manager once.
Step 3: The last and final step is to launch steam and verify the game cache.
- Click on Steam
- Go in Game library and right click on The Elder’s Scroll V: Skyrim Special Edition. Click on Properties.
- Go in Local files and click on Verify integrity of game cache.
That’s it. Now launch the game and recheck it once again.
I was planning on using the Creation kit tonight, but I can't log on to the Launcher. Can't log on to bethesda.net either. 'Wrong username or password', it says... Those are not wrong. Not only have I written it down (because their annoying launcher won't remember it between my session which are far and wide between), but my browser remembers it, and I haven't changed it.
However, requesting 'username' and 'password reset' don't work either. Nothing is sent, just the error message 'Something wrong happened. Please try again'. Which I did, again and again...
Everything is 'wrong' apparently, and I'm sure it couldn't possibly be Bethesda's fault... sigh
Anyone else having issues? Will this blow over soon? Or, am I at the mercy of Bethesda's benevolent and ever increasing consumer friendliness?
